Vista Innovative Services, LLC is seeking a Database Administrator to add to our Enterprise Analytics and Systems Support Services (EASSS) team in support of Human Resources Command (HRC) Enterprise Modernization Directorate (EMoD).

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, maintains, develops, implements, and administers Oracle, SQL, and Mainframe databases and its policies and procedures, ensuring its smooth operation, security, and integrity.
  • Implement data models and database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.
  • Runs multiple computers and systems to check their accuracy and workability, and troubleshoots any errors found.
  • Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and security measures of databases; Oracle, SQL, or Mainframe.
  • Monitor the following: performance, trend analysis, space usage, space usage trends, and security logs
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency of data supporting the systems and applications identified in the System Availability Standards and System and Application Laydown document.
  • Supports the installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration of databases supporting application and systems
  • Creating and maintaining data models, audit accounts, roles, and permissions, reporting and monitoring of system performance are functions performed within database administration
  • Perform routine/daily production disk backups utilizing full backups, incremental backups, and transaction log files
  • Monitor availability of production databases (respond to database alerts and resolve database issues). Outages shall be scheduled with the government to minimize impact on operations.
  • Creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases, and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner.
  • Setting up cybersecurity measures, preserving data integrity, and ethically handling private data.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Generating regular reports on database performance, usage, and security compliance for management and stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Education can be substituted with years of experience.
  • 2-9 years of proven work experience as a Data Base Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, ETL, MySQL, Oracle, or Mainframe.
  • Proficiency in wiring complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Certifications or Licenses in/or similar – CompTIA, Linux, etc.
  • Secret Clearance
