Bristol Bay Shared Services (BBSS), LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist.  **Remote Position**
 
General Purpose:
Provide support for payroll functions.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Review weekly timesheets in electronic timekeeping system for compliance with Department of Labor laws and company policy, including:
a. Overtime rules
b. Minimum hours worked/PTO needed
c. Double-time for Union
  1. Extract timekeeping files, upload to ERP, and ensure they reconcile.
  2. Process payroll in ERP for job costing and review:
a. Recalculate exempt pay for straight time regular time (SR)
b. Double check PTO balances
c. Process PTO cash outs and bonuses
d. Update multi-rate employee rates
e. Calculate and process grossed-up taxable per diem and lodging
  1. Extract payroll files from ERP, upload to payroll processing system, and ensure they reconcile.
  2. Process employee benefit catch-ups and/or refunds.
  3. Process payroll in payroll processing system and create pay advices.
  4. Obtain missing timesheet signatures for employees and approvers.
  5. Notify AP of employee inactivation events and direct deposit changes.
  6. Process job cost reclassifications for timesheet corrections.
  7. Reconcile, update report, and remit weekly 401(k).
  8. Remit weekly HSA/FSA payments.
  9. Monitor and reconcile employee PTO/Sick balances and liability.
a. Update ERP PTO balances and tier increases 
  1. Create (upload data to D2Xchange), print, and review weekly certified payroll reports.
  2. Research pay discrepancies.
  3. Work closely with HR and review their new employee data entry and employee changes.
  4. Work closely with Tax when payroll tax issues arise.
  5. Work closely with employees on direct deposit changes and corrections.
  6. Reconcile and process monthly HMSA payments.
  7. Report monthly heritage payroll data.
  8. Report monthly statistical payroll data.
  9. Draft and update payroll procedures regularly.
  10. Maintain and organize data on network drive.
  11. Complete other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
H.S. Diploma or GED.  Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience.  Knowledge of DOL laws required.  Multi-company, multi-state, construction, government contracting, and union experience preferred.  UKG, Spectrum, and Deltek Costpoint T&E experience preferred.
