LOCATION: Centro Medico Cathedral City

SUMMARY:

Works under the direction and supervision of the Radiology Manager for radiology services and under the direction of the Site Manger providing assistance to the physicians, mid-level providers, head nurse and patient; performs exam and explains procedure to patient. Operate diagnostic equipment. Input patient demographic on CR Unit, perform visual inspection of image for exposure factors (contrast, density, positioning, etc.).

Process patient billing information to complete patient record, as needed, Monitor radiographic equipment functioning and cleanliness. Performs routine maintenance and reports malfunctions to radiology manager/site manager. Inventory and order supplies and supports the mission of Borrego Health.

COMPENSATION:

$30.00 - $32.00 per hour
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative Functions:

1. Limited Radiology Tech is responsible for knowing their scope of practice.

2. Knowledge of radiographic examination, positioning, technique procedure.

3. Obtain consents.

4. Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.

5. Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.

6. Explain to the patient the procedures followed in an examination.

7. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.

8. Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.

9. Prepare and replenish supplies in the radiology suite in orderly and constant state of readiness for incoming patients.

10. Attend all staff meetings.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Clinical Functions:

1. Indentify each patient and review each patient’s requisition, either hard copy of in computer system, for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.

2. Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety.

3. Records pertinent data on radiologist requisition/computer at all times. (Study ID, Patient Name, Description, Study date, Referring Physician, Gender, Age, Date of Birth.).

4. Review each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to appropriate supervisor, and or communicates pertinent data to person’s responsible foe the care of the patient following the procedure.

5. Indentifies anatomical orientation on all images ensures proper identification on all images.

6. Review patients record forms for accuracy and completion.

7. Provides quality care to the patients of Borrego Health, within the scope of practice outlined by state or federal law.

8. Delivers care in accordance with established standard of care and accepted community standards.

9. Understands the organizations commitment to provide high quality patient care. Promotes a Patient centered environment.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Graduate of approved high school or GED equivalent.

2. Certification from an accredited Limited Radiology Technical School.

3. One year work experience.

Special Conditions of Employment:

1. California Limited Radiographic permit

2. All staff that is presently working within a clinic is required to have a Current and Valid CPR and First Aide certification on file with the Human Resources Department. This is for clinical and administrative staff. This new license requirement is mandatory for continued employment, CPR and First Aide certification must be obtained though the American Heart Association. Internet certificates do not comply and for this reason are not valid.
