JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the successful candidate performs a variety of customer service, operational and administrative duties as delegated by manager. These responsibilities include the direct supervision and day-to-day operation of the facility. The employee’s work influences the professional image of the Bank within the community it serves.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to prepare or analyze detailed verbal or written instructions. Provides direction and leadership to branch employees with emphasis on superior customer service skills, achieving sales goals and teamwork.
  • Minimum requirements include college degree or two years prior people management experience and two or more years’ prior experience in a goal-oriented environment is essential for this job.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal communications, verbal and written, is mandatory. This position requires daily interaction with employees, clients and vendors; concise communication, translation and interpretation of various concepts are critical. 
  • A thorough knowledge of the procedures and policies related to the smooth functioning of the teller area and a working knowledge of the on-line computer system for information retrieval by using a CRT or teller terminal is necessary.
  • A minimum of 1 year previous teller experience and previous personal banking experience will enhance performance of job.
  • Ability to train and develop staff to deliver exceptional service and achieve technical performance expectations.
  • The Assistant Branch Manager provides service to clients by answering questions, authorizing checks and notarizing documents. Performs service transactions to include check reorders, address and name changes, safe deposit access, account maintenance.
Required registration on the Federal Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Registry.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS:
  • Job Performance Behaviors: Contributing to organization success, job effectiveness, relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • This individual is responsible for the daily supervision of the facility; maintains compliance with policies and procedures of the bank. Facilitates workflow by assisting tellers and personal bankers in problem resolutions, complex transactions and sensitive customer relations. This position oversees the monthly teller audits, prepares the monthly Teller Difference Report and ensures the CAP report is accurate and timely. Facilitates workflow by assisting tellers in problem resolutions, complex transactions and sensitive customer relations.
  • Operates as a Universal Banker by opening accounts, accepting loan applications and/or opening a teller drawer when needed.
  • The Assistant Branch Manager provides service to clients by answering questions, authorizing checks and notarizing documents.
  • The Assistant Branch Manager will help grow business through the acquisition, expansion, and retention of customer relationships by providing exceptional customer service, executing team strategies, and making sales referrals.
Specific Duties:
  • Writes, obtains approvals and delivers performance evaluations in a timely and positive manner.
  • At some locations, this position will be assigned the duty of carrying the ATM pager and respond to calls for service during and after bank hours.
  • Referrals for Incentive/Sales Plan. 
  • Succession planning.
  • Uses effective leadership to motivate and generate enthusiasm among branch member.
  • Greets, directs and assess needs of customer and refers to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with all sales and service objectives.
  • Prepares affidavits for lost documents and forgery/thefts when necessary. Also, receives telephone calls and collects payments on charged-off accounts.
  • Customer Satisfaction reports with scores of 85% or above.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Backup to other positions in the branch.
 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •  Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by Division Head, & VP of Retail to ensure a continuous workflow of daily operations.
