The American Trucking Associations (ATA), the nation’s leading trade and lobby association representing the trucking industry, is actively seeking a professional and resourceful Director of Event Services. This position participates in all logistical facets on assigned events in ATA’s Event Services Department. This position has direct supervisory responsibility of the Managers of Event Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees the logistical management and implementation of all facets of ATA events.
- Collaborates with VP on selection of sites for all ATA events. Negotiates and finalizes contracts with hotels, convention centers, and other external venues and vendors as needed and requested.
- Solicits and reviews RFPs for various required services/supplies for events, including but not limited to, audio visual, office equipment, security, temporary staff, entertainment, speakers, transportation, and printing.
- Collaborates with the Director, Production and Event Technology, in producing spec sheets to be sent to hotels, convention centers, and other partners as needed.
- Works closely with the Vice President, Event Services, and other ATA staff in developing timelines and scripts for all major ATA events.
- Works closely with the Director, Production and Event Technology, as well as the Managers, Event Services, in on-site management of ATA events.
- Reviews for accuracy and approves all bills relating to logistics, event implementation, and overall event management as requested.
Knowledge and Skills:
- BS/BA degree and 5-7 years’ experience in meetings and events management with an association or corporation.
- Previous experience working with hotels, convention centers, and other event providers is required.
