The American Trucking Associations is searching for a strategic and fast-paced Senior Manager of Programs. This exciting role provides  strategic direction and creative support to all teams within the industry affairs division, including image, internal communications, federation relations, events, meetings, and the executive office. This person delivers internal communications among ATA members and manages image media opportunities with industry, local and national media outlets, through publications, video, photos and social media.

In this role, you will be tasked with finding creative ways to amplify ATA programs using technology and grassroots efforts. This is a great opportunity for a leader experienced in communications to join a dynamic and evolving organization.


Education/Background Requirements – BS/BA in Communications, Journalism or related field; 5+ years’ experience in news, public affairs or familiarity with media required; Experience with developing and managing integrated communications campaigns, drawing from multiple disciplines including media relations, government relations, advertising, and public opinion research, in-house or at a public relations agency; 2+ years of experience leading/managing a team in Communications or Outreach required.

We are looking for a superstar candidate with experience in digital communications. Familiarity with the media and social media is highly preferred. If you are comfortable speaking to and making presentations to large groups this might be the role for you. This role also provides inter-departmental leadership for a number of ATA Image programs.


Other skills you could bring to the table:
Experience managing teams and overseeing programs; Copywriting skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Familiarity with legislative and regulatory processes; Prior experience using videography, editing and photographic equipment; Proficiency in Photoshop; The ability to work under short deadlines.
