Location: Anchorage, Alaska 

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm 

 

ASCI Federal Services is currently seeking applicants to be considered for a Material Handling Technician roleThis role loads, unloads, and moves materials within the warehouse. Review customer orders to ascertain materials to be issued out of stock. Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment as required and operates light-duty trucks to and from required/various locations. 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Work in a safe manner and correct unsafe acts and conditions. 
  • Assist internal and external customers in a professional manner. 
  • Generate Issue tickets based on priority/need date for customer delivery orders. 
  • Maintain high level of accuracy when handling materials. 
  • Accurately identify and receive materials into the warehouse. 
  • Accurately identify non-conforming or damaged material. 
  • Process and/or return non-conforming or damaged material. 
  • Pack and/or ship materials in accordance to general practices unless specific instructions are provided 
  • Operate light trucks, forklifts, and material handling equipment. 
  • Read and/or follow oral instructions to identify materials to be moved. 
  • Load/unload containers, lift materials, and identify, label, count, receive, and issue materials. 
  • Perform equipment maintenance checks. 
  • Execute various warehouse transactions electronically. 
  • Operate small hand tools. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on bin maintenance and the care and custody of materials. 
  • Adhere to all safety and operations related procedures at all times. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: 

  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible material handling experience. 
  • High School Diploma/GED required 
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record 
  • Ability to pass a government administered background investigation in order to be granted access to government systems and/or worksites. 
  • Must be eligible to be approved for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
