Position Summary:

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all maintenance activities, including coordination with Capital projects for the Chesterfield facility. This is a fast-paced maintenance department and very dynamic working environment.

Summary of the Main Responsibilities:

  • Communicate, prioritize, and schedule area maintenance needs
  • Schedule planned maintenance work packages in SAP for all work in the plant utilizing manpower reports to determine work that can be scheduled
  • Develop and maintain the plant scheduling process with focus on preventative maintenance
  • Review and confirm proper work order priorities in SAP, working with Maintenance Coordinators
  • Schedule routine, PM, and small capital work orders
  • Work with the Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Planners, and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure that all parts, shared services, and safety issues have been addressed prior to scheduling the work
  • Maintain KPI metrics for schedule attainment, schedule loading, PM hours worked, OT percentage, and break in work through the schedule compliance report in SAP
  • Lead Maintenance Sub-Team meetings, working with planners, Maintenance Coordinators, Supervisors, Unit Leaders, Execution Leader, and Engineers to prioritize work, prepare schedules, and manage costs
  • Utilize T-7 scheduling methodology in coordination with input from area sub-teams to develop a seven-week look ahead schedule and detailed weekly work schedule
  • Participate in daily update meeting to ensure communication with the Operations and Maintenance on daily scheduled activities and the next day's scheduled activities
  • Lead outage/TAR scheduling activities including working with Maintenance Planners, the Maintenance Execution Leader, Capital Project Managers, Operations, and outside contractors in the development of an integrated schedule for all outage/TAR activities
  • Confirm that site TAR schedules are correctly transferred to the master planning database(s).
  • Work closely with site planners and TAR manager to schedule appropriate internal and external resources with Risk and mitigation for assigned plant Turnaround both small and large outages.
  • Provide relief planner coverage for vacations and training in other areas of the plant
  • Provide coverage for outages and as requested by management
  • Facilitate positive change in the Maintenance organization by proactively driving department initiatives such as SAP enhancements, Planning and Scheduling improvements
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested to support Maintenance and plant operations

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in chemical manufacturing
  • 3 years of experience with maintenance coordination or planning

Additional Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office systems Ei. MS Excel, MS Project
  • SAP experience
  • Power BI knowledge and experience
  • Cost forecasting and tracking of maintenance PO’s
