Security Traffic Control Officer

PURPOSE: To ensure effective traffic flow throughout Mall of America’s parking lots and ramps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

· Direct vehicles throughout Mall of America as instructed by Security Traffic Supervisor and/or Security Traffic Team Lead.

· Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas.

· Provide outstanding internal and external guest service

· Regular, reliable and consistent attendance

· Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

· Must be at least 16 years of age

· Ability to work weekends

· Completion of an in-house 40 hour training program within three months of date of hire

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

· Excellent coordination and movement skills

· Good verbal communications skills

· Ability to conduct self in a professional manner

· Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Standing – Frequently- 80-90%

· Sitting – Periodically- 10%

· Kneeling-Periodically- 5-10%

· Frequent and extensive use of hands and arms at or above the shoulder – Frequently - 80-90%

· Frequent and extensive use of hands and arms below the shoulder - Frequently - 80-90%

· Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds – Occasionally – 25%

· Repetitive motion - Frequently 80-90%
