Job purpose

 

As a member of the production team, the Production Supervisor supervises personnel in the production effort, inspection function; to ensure that all materials used and assembled by the company conform to specification requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a sage working environment and grow our “Safety First Culture”
• Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
• Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
• Oversee and coach employees
• Employee annual reviews
• Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
• Check production output according to specifications
• Submit reports on performance and progress
• Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
• Train employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
• Ensure company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
• Performs other assignments as required or assigned by supervision

Skills and Knowledge

 

Qualifications include:

• Understanding of quality inspection and testing methods, drawings/schematics and special processes
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable, able to resolve conflict
• Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines
• Knowledge of SOP
• Communication skills
• Time management skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of all jobs in the department
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Education and Experience

 

• High School or equivalent (Required)
• Leadership: 2 years (Preferred)
• Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred) 

Work Environment

• Regular attendance is an essential function of the job
• Performing duties outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is required
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
• The noise level that is typical for this work environment can be loud

Physical requirements

• May be required to stand for long periods of time
• May involve some repetitive motions
• Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
• Manual and physical dexterity needed to perform duties of the position
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Maintain the production pace of the other team members
• Will engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of furniture
