Payroll Specialist – Coal Valley Mine
Under general supervision, the Payroll
Specialist will perform payroll-related duties on a professional level and work
closely with the HR and payroll departments. This position requires
interpersonal skills such that the incumbent can relate to individuals at all
levels within the organization.

Payroll duties and Responsibilities
Assist with processing and audit
of payroll for various hourly and salaried groups. This includes timely and
accurate processing and transmission of payroll data, and maintenance of
payroll files.
A payroll (PCP) designation or
working towards one would be an asset. Equivalent experience in the required
field that provided skills, knowledge and skills may be considered. Preferred
experience with Ceridian Dayforce software, but not required. Enjoy working in
a fast-paced environment that can be at times high pressure due to deadlines.

General Information
Excellent communication skills,
both verbal and written, Detail orientated with good organizational skills, Able
to take direction, MS Excel, Word etc.
Sitting, some bending, stooping,
and stretching. Requires data input for extended periods of time without
leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30
pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination
and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier,
telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
Works from the Coal Valley Mine-site. Normal office environment. Normal hours of
work are M-Thurs 10 hr. days., bussing is provided from Edson. The coal valley
mine main office is 1 hour south off Highway 47 west of Edson. Must have
accommodation in the Edson area. This position may require some occasional
evening or weekend work.
