IT Intern
Position Summary
The IT Technician Intern will install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot company computers and peripherals, and common computer-related problems. This individual will come in close contact with other company employees and should be prepared to provide customer-oriented technical support when required.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Support-level knowledge in Windows 10 operation systems and/or iOS
•In-depth knowledge of PC hardware and software and must be able to correct PC related problems in a timely manner
•Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing, DHCP, and DNS
•Maintain, configure, support, and implement desktop computing hardware and software technologies, both on premise and as well as cloud-based platforms such as Office 365 and other SaaS systems
•Troubleshoot technical issues, provide technical support, and facilitate trouble tickets
•Execute hardware, software, and licensing inventory tracking and control
•Maintains spare computers, monitors and other peripherals for quick replacement until malfunctioning unit can be repaired or replaced
•Troubleshoot and maintain wired and wireless company network
•Demonstrate the capacity for organization and prioritization in a technical environment
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Analytical skills with an ability to evaluate problems and issues, make recommendations for courses of action
•Interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others in teams and collaborative work situations
•Ability to accept change and adapt to organizational change and shifting priorities
Education and Experience
•Prominent level of computer literacy
•Well organized, forward-thinker, good communicator
•High School Diploma or GED, required
•Working toward or have attained Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or higher; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors or employees of our organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.
REASONING ABILITY:
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Position hours and shifts will not exceed 40 hours, unless authorized.
