We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join our DO & CO Family within our Unit in New York.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly orders and evaluate and facilitate approval on all purchase orders and coordinate with receivers and buyer(s) to ensure accuracy of all deliveries.
  • Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation and maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals.
  • Upload weekly/monthly bids into Navision and maintain accuracy of stock code information within Navision (Pricing, Current Supplier, Current Purchase data)
  • Monitor supplier performance (On-time deliveries, Meeting company quality & specifications and follow up on open POs and clear void POs from ERP system.
  • Conduct monthly inventory count. Assess inbound shipments and review inbound paperwork (PO/BOL/CCP1).
  • Participate in monthly menu cycle change meetings.
  • Ensure compliance of product specification and food safety.
  • Contribute to team effort by training other employees within the department and perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.  
  • Proficient computer skills (Particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with storing and handling merchandise in the food industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Assesses critical needs and prioritizes urgent responsibilities.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills.
  • Team leader qualities and outstanding communication skills.
  • Dedication and attention to detail with regards to customer service.
  • Solution seeker and effective decision maker.
  • Hands-on to make sure all flights are successfully dispatched on time.
  • Ability to manage quickly to overcome any deficiencies in the purchasing department.
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, heavy workload and standing for a prolonged period as necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures.
  • High level of self-organization, work exact and quality oriented.

  • Estimated salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
