Hours of work:                      37.5 hours weekly

 

SUMMARY 

IP networks form the backbone of Prometric’s ability to service our clients testing needs globally. Scalable, reliable and flexible networks are critical to our global operations. The position of Network Engineer will collaborate with other team members and groups to identify and develop network designs, solutions, and policy recommendations which support our day-to-day business as well as future growth. The primary responsibility for this position is to design and support Prometric’s global network operations. The environment includes multiple global call/tech support centers, data centers, satellite offices and test centres and cloud environments.  The position requires demonstrated expertise in routing, switching and WAN technologies with an emphasis on cloud networking, VPNs and MPLS.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and support Prometric’s IP network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot a full range of network related issues across all disciplines
  • The successful candidate will be able to switch focus and priority quickly while working efficiently implementing and documenting a superior network
  • Troubleshoot and design cloud networking environment (OCI, Azure, AWS)
  • Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a remote team
  • Self-starter with the ability to show initiative with minimal supervision
  • Support and design enterprise level wireless networks
  • Maintain network documentation to a high level
  • Work globally on a follow-the-sun team
  • Research and recommend evolving technology to improve overall network performance while reducing recurring cost
  • Design and implement the network strategy for migration of On-Prem infrastructure and application to a cloud provider.
  • Work a rotating on-call schedule outside of business hours

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with Cisco routing and switching
  • Cisco certified preferably to Cisco CCNP level or above
  • Experience in cloud network design, operation and support desirable
  • Proficient with LAN network design/implementation, WAN technologies with an emphasis on DMVPN, OSPF and BGP routing, MPLS
  • Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge
  • Proficient with Cisco ASA firewall configuration and deployment
  • Proficient with Palo Alto firewall configuration and deployment
  • Experienced in network design and implementation
  • Excellent Visio documentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
